The Biostone-Plus Water Filter is the absolute best water ionizer filter ever made and fits any Jupiter water ionizer model.

The New Biostone Plus Filter is a similar size as the standard .1M Biostone filter but improved to also include layers of calcium with magnesium plus tourmaline [See PDF on Tourmaline, below] plus a layer that targets chloriamine (unique to Jupiter filters). Biostone Plus filters in Jupiter ionizers include ingredients to help remove chloramine and heavy metals.

The calcium is Japanese premium grade. It not only helps to slightly remineralize the water but also naturally sweetens the water and helps change volatile fluorine molecules into a benign compound (calcium fluoride).

Tourmaline crystal is known to be a beautiful, semi-precious gem. Now as a mineral it also became a focus of scientific research. One of the reasons is that infrared Tourmaline is the only mineral on earth to show permanent electricity. It was found by researches in Japan that even broken into pieces, Tourmaline crystals always maintained a positive and negative electrodes.

All the latest Jupiter Science ionizers have a digital readout that shows how long before you need to change your filter. A filter typically lasts 1000 gallons [a family of four between 8 to 9 months]. Water filter change recommendations are variable, depending on what the quality of your source water is. If there are a lot of sediments in your water, we recommend a pre-filter to extend the life of your filter and ionizer. In any event, we recommend changing the filter at least once every 12 months to ensure quality performance. Ultimately, though, how often you change your filter will depend on the quality of your water and the amount of water you are using each day on average. If you smell or taste chlorine in your water after it passes through your Ionizer you should change your filter. In some city water supplies the amount of chlorine now used is at higher levels than before due to increases in contaminants. Also if you notice that the flow rate through your filter has decreased to a slow rate then it is probably because it is full of particles and now needs replacement.
