This unit is more durable than units manufactured in Japan. The unit is also much more cost effective in terms of electrode and membrane replacement. For example, the replacement cost for the electrode/membrane component in the Japanese assembled unit is more than $4,000.00usd, and it has the same life expectancy as the one in this unit. Unit must have pre-filtration equipment installed to ensure longevity and trouble-free operation. It is recommended that source water is tested to ensure there is not a problem with chemical contamination, such as nitrates.
