The KYK Genesis has been upgraded, and is now being imported by two different companies. The two upgraded models [Genesis Platinum and IonQuench] are slightly different from each other, but here's how they are the same. They both have the same features of the KYK Genesis 30000 [described here], and they each have the following upgraded features:
* Improved self-cleaning of plates on a continuous [behind the scenes] basis.
* Improved button-selection of alkaline/acid levels [makes for easier use].
* Improved filtration [making cleaner ionized water.
* Different color [silver].

There are some differences in these two ionizers. The Genesis Platinum has a bigger display screen and has more watts of power [300w]. I have tested the Platinum, and my results showed that the Genesis Platinum and IonQuench performed equally and both about the same as the old KYK Genesis. The Genesis Platinum has a 5-year parts & labor warranty. The IonQuench has a 7-year parts & labor warranty.

Variable amperage also allows customer with average water to achieve more extreme pH values, like 11. pH and 3 pH, (without the need to add saline solution) for cleaning and disinfectant uses.

The Genesis is KYK's top-of-the-line water ionizer. Genesis' advanced automated cleaning system runs automatically after each use so that you never have to wait for a cleaning cycle to end before you are able to get a glass of water. The Genesis is also the first water ionizer to offer a six item auto-diagnosis system to help you troubleshoot any problems it may be encountering.

The KYK Genesis is a dual-filter water ionizer operating at 150 watts regulated by a SMPS power system. When you factor in the mesh texture of the plates, the Genesis offers close to 170 inches of total plate surface area in the 5-plate model and approximately 220 inches of total plate surface area in their top selling 7-plate model.

The plates in the KYK Genesis are slotted - offering the anti-build up protection of flat plates with the increased surface area and texture of "mesh" plates. Slottled plates allow for better flow through of water in the electrolysis chamber - which means more contact between the water and the plates which allows for good ionization.

The multi-color LCD screen displays pH, ORP, exact water flow rate, any auto-diagnosis issues such as filter contamination, actual remaining filter life for the dual filters, and volume levels.

KYK Genesis Touch Sensors
Below the LCD screen are seven easy-to-use touch sensors. To create alkaline water at a 10 pH, all you have to do is press the "Alkali Water" sensor until it displays a 10 pH, then touch the "On" button. To make acid water, just press the "Acid Water" touch sensor and touch "On".

When adusting the settings you will find that the max pH that will display will be a 10.2 or 10.5 and the max ORP that will display will be a -450 or -550. You should be aware that the pH and ORP figures displayed by ANY water ionizer are not readings from an actual internal meter but rather estimates based on the amount of power being delivered to the plates on each setting.

The reason that actual pH and ORP meters are not used in water ionizers has to do with the maintenace required to maintain accurate readings. PH and ORP meters have to be recalibrated on a regular basis - every two to four weeks - and it is not possible or feasible to open up a unit to the point where a meter would need to be installed every two to four weeks to recalibrate these meters. In most cases, the pH and ORP numbers displayed are conservative. Most customers report their testing shows higher pH readings than the level shown on the screen. Customers who have purchased pH and ORP meters also frequently report readings that are higher than what is displayed on the screen.
