Why Buy a Cheap Water Ionizer?
The obvious reason to buy cheap water ionizers is to save money, but if the lesser-priced water ionizer doesn’t last as long or work as well, then it may cost you more in the end to buy too cheap of a water ionizer.
Here’s a video comparing two cheap water ionizers. The Nexus water ionizer is really well-made and is certified as medical equipment in Korea, the other is Chinese-made, and I don’t recommend it.
It is not a bad idea at all to try to get the best deal. When it comes to water ionizers, there are quite a few really well-built, long-lasting and high-quality water ionizers to choose from. You can see these on my Water Ionizer Comparison Chart.
Considering that platinum is selling for over $1500 per oz., and the plates of these water ionizers are coated with platinum, cheap water ionizers made in China are suspect!
Why not Buy a Cheap Water Ionizer?
There are dozens of start-up enterprises developing cheaper water ionizers these days. Whether they can be trusted or not is something I’ve spent a lot of years studying. Caution should be used in buying a cheap water ionizer. A water ionizer is a scientific piece of equipment and not just a water filter. It has [or at least should have] platinum coated titanium plates (electrodes) in a water cell/chamber. There are intricate electronics involved as well. I think I can safely assume you don’t want to jeopardize your family and/or buy something that will end up in the junk pile in a year or two.
Water Ionizer Manufacturers
There are two good countries for the manufacture of water ionizers at this time [and for the past 20 years], and those are Korea and Japan. The main reason they are good countries for this is that they take the water ionizer industry seriously in those countries. Water ionizers are approved medical devices in those countries, and so are regulated for their highest quality. Also, statistically, electronics and engineering are better as well.
Secondly, within those countries, the manufacturers that have concentrated their scientific prowess in the area of building water ionizers for many years are really only a handful. It’s not an industry that is easy to break into, because you need a team of engineers who knows what they’re doing as well as a factory whose integrity and quality of workmanship are really high as well. The start-up expenses can and should go into the millions.
Within the Parameters of High-Quality, Can you Still Buy a Water Ionizer Cheaply These Days?
Yes. The Nexus water ionizer models are a great example of that. They are made in Korea, certified as medical equipment by the KFDA, and have 10-years parts/labor warranties. Of all the inexpensive water ionizer that I’d recommend, the Nexus brand is the best. All water ionizers which are made in China, though they may seem great, are not a good bargain at all. China is where the engineering, and electronics are statistically of lower-quality. There are also a few US-made water ionizers, which are literally assembled here and mostly made with imported parts. In the US, where water ionizers are not considered medical equipment, I highly suggest to stay away from these “deals”.
At Alkaline Water Plus we offer many kinds of savings and discounts on water ionizers and filters. We also often have refurbished water ionizers which have been only barely used and contain new filters and full warranties. This is another way to get a really good, discount on a higher-priced water ionizer. You usually have to call us for info on these though.
All water ionizers should have platinum coated titanium plates. This is the basis of sound and safe electrolysis. Never accept any water ionizer that has plates made of anything else. If the advertisement says “Gold-Plated” don’t get it. The problem with gold is it is 1) too soft, and 2) not as effective in catalyzing [...]
All water ionizers should have platinum coated titanium plates. This is the basis of sound and safe electrolysis. Never accept any water ionizer that has plates made of anything else. The safety and stability of the water ionizer is dependent on this above all other factors. Do not accept “platinum-titanium alloys”. The word alloy means [...]
Tyent and Life water ionizer companies have now come out with 9-plate water ionizers. Is a 9-plate water ionizer better than a 7-plate water ionizer? It has been a long, long time since I’ve completely trusted what water ionizer companies say about themselves. Even when I think their water ionizers are great, I have found [...]
Water Ionizer Owners: How do you know it’s time to clean your water ionizer? If your water ionizer’s pH is dropping over time it’s time to clean. If your water ionizer’s flow-rate is slowing down it’s time to clean. If you see a whitish film forming around your alkaline spout [flexi-hose] it’s time to clean. If it’s been a [...]
All quality water ionizers use platinum coated titanium plates. Is titanium needed in a water ionizer electrode? And Why?Titanium is a very hard, heat-resistant, non-magnetic, durable metal and it’s also abundant on this planet. So, it’s the perfect choice for use in a water ionizer. Is the use of titanium electrodes in a water ionizer safe?Yes, titanium [...]
How do the Water Ionizer Plates Compare with Each Other and Why Would You Compare Plates?I stated in my last post: ultimately, the pH and ORP are the only real way you can judge how great your water ionizer is. But, what do the plates [platinum coated titanium electrodes] have to do with this? There is [...]
How Great are Water Ionizer Mesh Plates? Are they Better? Do Mesh Plates Ionize the Water Better? Many water ionizers are using mesh plates today. It used to be that all water ionizers used solid plates, and of course there used to be very little selection of different water ionizer companies [and models] as there are [...]
Why are water ionizers so expensive? First of all, if you compare water ionizers to medical equipment, they’re not expensive at all. But I’ll explain how the expense breaks down. The most cost is in the platinum coated titanium plates (electrodes). Platinum is right now selling for over $950.00 per ounce! Each plate in the [...]
