KYK water ionizers [one of the biggest names in water ionizers in Korea] have had a name change and face lift. They are no longer being sold in the US as "KYK" water ionizers. Instead, they are being sold as either the IonQuench water ionizers or the Genesis Platinum water ionizers.
IonQuench, LLC [a sister company to Tyent USA] imports the IonQuench from the EOS company in Korea and offers a 7-year parts and labor warranty. The IonQuench has 150 watts of power [variable amperage]. This water ionizer only comes in 110v and can only be shipped to USA and Canada.
Water for Life imports the Genesis Platinum water ionizer from the EOS company in Korea and offers a 5-year parts and labor warranty. The Genesis Platinum has 300 watts of power [variable amperage]. You can get this water ionizer in either 110v or 220v, and it can be shipped to any country in the world.
Both water ionizers have the features of the KYK Genesis 30000, except for some pretty hefty upgrades. The most significant upgrade is the continuous cleaning of the electrodes in both water ionizers. This means that there won't be filming or scaling of the plates, and this will help to keep the pH and ORP consistantly good over time. The color has been changed to silver in both water ionizers, and the filters, buttons, and ease-of-use has been improved in both water ionizers.
Honestly, my preference was to be able to sell both of these brand new water ionizers on my website, and over time perhaps the two competing companies will come to terms with each other and allow this. But in the meantime due to the rules of both companies I have to make a choice -- sell one or the other of these two great water ionizers on my website. Making this choice was very difficult, because I have had very good relations with both companies. However, I do want to make it clear that both water ionizers and water ionizer companies are good, service their customers, have good products, and their water ionizers are well worth the money [whichever one you choose]. I have full confidence that the Water for Life company is here to stay and not going anywhere. I also have confidence that the IonQuench company will have no problems when it comes time to replenish it's stock. I suppose only time will tell on some of these things. For anyone whose heard rumors, I would suggest to not listen to them. I also encourage all of the companies selling water ionizers to simply stick to selling wonderful water ionizers to people and stay away from mud-slinging. That's my two-cents worth.
Which one have I chosen? I have chosen the IonQuench, and I'll tell you why. The IonQuench has a 7-year parts and labor warranty, verses the Genesis Platinum's 5-year. The IonQuench will be serviced by the Tyent company, which has a larger and more organized corporate structure, has more employees, and maintains a larger stock [so they don't very often have back orders].
What about the Genesis Platinum and Water for Life? I will continue to have a working relationship with the Water for Life Affiliate Program. I recommend that program to anyone who is interested in buying a great water ionizer while also making an extra stream of income on the side. Water for Life offers 3-level tiered commissions to anyone who has purchased a Water for Life water ionizer.
What about the 300 watts of power from the Genesis Platinum? This is true that the Genesis Platinum offers 300 watts of power. That may be a good feature to many people. To me, in my opinion, that many watts of power isn't necessary in a water ionizer. It may or may not degrade the plates to have that much wattage going through them, but I wouldn't want to take the chance. It would be fine if they offered a lifetime warranty on parts [i.e., you'd be protected], but they don't. For that reason, I consider the 300 watts of power a little risky. It's possibly just fine...but I have some doubts about it. This is part of what led me to choose the IonQuench over the Platinum. In the meantime, if you choose the Genesis Platinum I think it's a good water ionizer and you will probably get years and years of great ionized water from it. The choice is really all yours, and either choice would be fine. If you choose the Genesis Platinum, please let me know and I'll make sure you get the maximum discount and gifts AND are added to my team in the Water for Life Affiliate Program.
