Buy External H3 Comprehensive Water Filter System - High Capacity Prefilter

The External H3 Comprehensive Water Filter System - High Capacity Prefilter offers triple protection with a pre-filter set up which is perfect for city water. It has three stages of high capacity, heavy-duty, long-lasting filtration. These filters typically last at least 2000 gallons, or two years. depending on water quality.

The H3 Filters:

All three filters in the H3 Water Filter System are high-capacity, meaning they typically filter over twice what ordinary 10" filters would.

  • A high-capacity KDF 85 filter to remove sulfur, iron and every kind of heavy-metal there is, pesticides, pharmaceuticals, chlorine and more up to 5000 gallons, depending on water quality.
  • A high-capacity Activated Alumina filter to remove fluoride up to 5000 gallons, depending on water quality.
  • A high-capacity Supercarbon [Catalytic Carbon] filter to remove Chloramines, a whole array of other hard-to-remove chemicals and improve taste up to 5000 gallons, depending on water quality.

Filter replacements can be purchased separately.

The H3's triple housing:

H3 stands for 3-housings. To hold the filter cartridges in place, a filter housing is needed.

Filter Housings Come With:

  • 1/4" fittings
  • 1/4" hose
  • filter wrench
  • wall bracket & screws

They don't come with plumbing connection pieces, T-valves or filter-faucets. You can purchase those separately if you want, or they're easy to find locally.

The triple housing measures 11.5" x 5" x 10"

The H3 Filter System comes standard with the following filters:

Filter #1: KDF 85

KDF 85 -Heavy Metal Reduction Cartridge: The KDF filter specializes in removing inorganics, heavy metals and chlorine, while the Granular activated coconut-shell carbon removes organic matter. KDF filter media controls scale, bacteria and algae. Filter removes: sediment, chlorine, lead, mercury, arsenic, copper, scale, lime, VOCs, THMs, and much more! The KDF 85 filter media also removes sulphur and iron.

Filter # 2: ALF

ALF stands for Arsenic, Lead and Fluoride. Activated Alumina is the only reliable filter media for effective fluoride and arsenic removal. This filter media will remove up to 99% of fluoride, arsenic, & lead. It does so by attracting the fluoride to it, chemically, at which time the fluoride is then trapped forever in the filter. Fluoride is such a small element that it even gets through reverse osmosis and distillation units, however it won't get through this filter once it's bonded to the activated alumina filter media. Even if you're not concerned about fluoride, because maybe you have well water or something, you will still be likely to want the Activated Alumina filter, because it is the #1 filtration method for removal of arsenic [which is tasteless and can affect wells seasonally so does not always show up on tests.] It is also an excellent media for the removal of lead, which can show up in wells and causes brain damage.

Filter # 3: SuperCarbon

SuperCarbon Prefilter [catalytic carbon] is the best filter media for chlorine/chloramine removal. The most effective way to economically reduce chloramines is through the use of specially designed carbon (catalytic). Our high capacity filter has been designed for up to 1,500 gallons of use or about one year. Catalytic Carbon is extremely porous and even better than granular activated carbon [GAC]. It provides the largest surface area of any other filter for contaminants to collect and is the filtration media of choice for removing chloramine, chlorine, Hydrogen Sulfide, MTHB, VOCs, pesticides, herbicides, pharmaceuticals, bad tastes, odors, & many other toxins.

Installation Instructions:

The H3 System doesn't come with installation instructions. It is usual to get a plumber or handy-person to install it, however I have posted videos here to instruct you in the event you prefer to install it yourself. It is essential that with any filter system installed under your sink that you install it properly, because it's out of sight and you may risk a lot of potential water damage if you don't install it correctly.

Return Policy on Filters: We sell only the highest quality filters and inspect every batch in our facility. All filter sales are final. There are no refunds on filters for any reason. If a filter was damaged in shipping we will send a replacement and the damaged filter must be returned to us within 10 business days or we must charge full price for it.
