This convenient set replaces both cartridges in the system: the multi-stage filtration and remineralization cartridge and the high-capacity reverse osmosis membrane. Together, they provide all five stages of filtration used by the Perfect & Pure system.
Two Cartridges — Five Stages of Filtration
One of the advantages of the Perfect & Pure design is that five separate stages of water treatment are accomplished with just two replaceable cartridges.
Multi-Stage Filtration & Remineralization Cartridge
This cartridge performs four important functions as water travels through the system:
- Stage 1 — Sediment Filtration: Polypropylene sediment media captures particulate matter such as dirt, rust and sediment.
- Stage 2 — Carbon Block Filtration: Activated carbon helps reduce chlorine, unwanted tastes and odors, and chemicals such as volatile organic compounds (VOCs).
- Stage 4 — Carbon Polishing: After reverse osmosis, the purified water receives a final carbon treatment for improved taste and odor.
- Stage 5 — MineralPlus Remineralization: Beneficial minerals are added back to the RO water to improve its mineral balance and taste.
1000 GPD Reverse Osmosis Membrane
Stage 3 is handled by the separate high-capacity reverse osmosis membrane. This membrane provides filtration down to 0.0001 micron while supporting the system's high-output 1000-gallon-per-day design.
How the Five-Stage Process Works
Water first travels through the multi-stage cartridge for sediment and carbon filtration. It then flows through the 1000 GPD reverse osmosis membrane, where dissolved solids and many extremely small impurities are separated from the product water.
After reverse osmosis, the purified water returns through the multi-stage cartridge for final carbon polishing and MineralPlus remineralization before being delivered to your faucet.
This efficient water path allows the Perfect & Pure system to provide five stages of treatment using only two replaceable cartridges.

When Should the Filters Be Replaced?
The complete filter set is designed for replacement approximately once every 12 months.
Actual filter life can vary depending upon your incoming water quality and the amount of purified water your household uses. Homes with particularly challenging source water or unusually high water consumption may require replacement sooner.
Why Replace Both Cartridges?
The two cartridges work together as one complete purification process. The prefiltration media helps protect the RO membrane, the membrane performs the primary reverse osmosis purification, and the final carbon and remineralization media condition the water after RO treatment.
Replacing the complete set helps maintain the system's water quality, flow rate, taste and overall filtration performance.
