Alkaline Water

Published by Alkaline Water Plus

Many people are curious about alkaline water and how it benefits your body. It’s important to understand that the human body thrives on a balanced pH. The pH scale is used to measure how acidic or alkaline something is.

A high number means more acidity, while a low number means the item is more alkaline—7 being neutral on the scale. Tap water has an average pH level of about 7, which makes it slightly acidic when compared to our bodies' natural state (which tends to be slightly alkaline). Drinking too much soda or juice can lead you toward an acidic pH level because they contain citric acid; eating too many processed foods will also cause this imbalance due to their lack of essential minerals that help keep your system in check.

Why is alkaline water healthy for my diet?

Alkaline water is a great addition to any diet. It can:

  • help you lose weight by reducing hunger pangs and increasing metabolism, which means that you burn more calories throughout the day when compared with drinking regular tap or bottled water (which often contains chlorine).
  • help you stay hydrated
  • detoxify your body by reducing acidic waste load on the kidneys and the digestive system by bringing back balance to the all-important pH level.
  • absorb nutrients more efficiently, including vitamins and minerals that promote healthy skin, hair, and nails.
  • fight disease by strengthening your immune system.

And since alkaline water has been shown to increase energy levels and boost metabolism, it may also help fight aging!

Can I alkalize my tap water?

There are a few different ways to do this, but the easiest one is to buy an alkaline water pitcher. These pitchers come with a filter inside that can be changed out when it gets dirty; simply fill up the pitcher with tap water and let it sit overnight in your fridge so that the filter has time to remove any chlorine or other pollutants from your water. In the morning, pour yourself some alkaline water at breakfast time and enjoy! If you're interested in incorporating more alkaline water into your life, we have a wide range of high-quality filters and pitchers for you to choose from.

The results are clear – alkaline water is healthy!

While there is still more research to be done on alkaline water and its health benefits, it’s clear that it can be a valuable part of any healthy diet. It’s important to understand the difference between pH levels in tap water versus alkaline water before making any decisions about what type of water you use.
