30 Years Drinking What I Can Only Call "Heavenly Water"

This year I'm celebrating 30 years of drinking ionized water. I marvel at my providence in discovering in the mid-90s the incredible technology of water ionizers to transform water into the way God meant for water to be.

In this podcast and blog post, I plan to tell my story of the past 30 years and weave into this story why I call ionized water Heavenly (God's water).

A Very Good Introduction to Ionized Water

It all started when my sister introduced me to ionized water. She shared several TV broadcasts she had recorded about a new water technology coming out of Japan called electrolysis (also called ionized water, electrolyzed water, electrically reduced water, hydrogen water, and other terms). At the time, the water had been used mainly in hospitals and clinics in Japan and Korea with great results, but it was just that year making headway into homes for personal preventative use.

Watanabe Hospital

One Japanese hospital earned fame from the work of Dr. Watanabe, the head of Gynechology, who treated thousands of prenatal patients with ionized water. Thousands were cured of preeclampsia and other prenatal ailments. Their babies, by the way, were healthier and more intelligent than average. This is what Dr. Watanabe found:

• "This water can neutralize toxins."
• "Ionized alkaline antioxidant water improves body constituents and ensures effective healing to many illnesses."
• "I found that the women with pre-eclamptic toxemia who consumed antioxidant water tend to deliver healthier babies with stronger muscles."

Of course, Dr. Wantanabe was working in Japan, where the atmosphere for natural healing and treatment of patients is far friendlier than in the US. His findings were and still are impressive to me.

I remember at the time having just experienced toxemia when I was pregnant with my fifth child. That is a scary thing! Lots of mothers would want this preventative/curative information. Also, the fact that the babies of the mothers who were drinking ionized water were stronger, healthier, and more intelligent than average after simple treatments with ionized water is certainly noteworthy.

Other hospitals, clinics, and scientific research facilities were healing ailments, from diabetic necrosis to acid reflux and everything in between, with ionized water.

Buying and Using My First Water Ionizer

The work of Japanese and Korean hospitals, clinics, and animal studies impressed me so much that I wanted a water ionizer (despite the very high cost at the time and the fact that they were also very hard to find). But I wanted to help my children and me. We all had problems with constant allergies and ear and throat infections. So, in 1995, I bought my family's first water ionizer.

One Year Later and for Years After

About a year after getting my first water ionizer, I reflected on all the changes it made for me in my life. The good indoctrination I had, learning about all the clinics, hospitals, and trials with ionized water, paid off because it made me determined to use it with my family. The practical benefits were clear - no more hay fever, ear, or throat infections. My children were free of these things, too. It fixed acne too. Every time any of us had so much as an itchy throat or sniffle, we would go over to the sink to drink more ionized water.

In that first year, I could really see and feel the truth of the water's benefits for the whole family. I remember thinking about it and being impressed with the whole thing. So, I carried on for the next decade, doing the same thing. Water became the answer to almost everything that ever ailed us. I didn't think about it much and maybe even took it for granted from time to time that I was just about the healthiest person I knew.

Before my water ionizer years, as a teacher, I used to stay clear of kids with runny noses (my own included). But after a while, I just stopped being afraid of germs altogether.  

After Retiring From 25 Years as a Teacher & Principal

After retiring from 25 years as a teacher and principal, I used my computer and internet knowledge to build an online store. I immediately thought of the water ionizer when asked about my favorite product. This product had significantly impacted my life, so I knew I was destined to build my website around selling and educating people about water ionizers.

At this point, it was around 2007, and for the previous decade, I was so busy raising my children and teaching full-time that I hadn't kept up with new developments in ionized water. So, I got busy learning all the latest and greatest information about it.

The Work of Dr. Emoto

One thing that impressed me was the work of a unique and innovative Japanese scientist (Dr. Emoto) who photographed water droplets forming crystals as he flash-froze them. At the time, there were various pockets worldwide where people claimed it was healing water. Lourdes in France, Nordenaux in Germany, the Himalayas, clear mountain springs, etc.

He compared "healing water" (all sorts) with city water from a tap, both unfiltered and highly filtered, and the city water created ugly lumps while the healing waters formed beautiful crystal shapes.

He tried filtering, reverse osmosis, and even distilling the city water with no improvement, and the extreme filtration (RO & distillation) only made it worse.

It always stuck with me that the most beautiful of his pictures always showed the water sourced from pristine water sources, usually high in the mountains, before getting a chance to become contaminated, creating such beautiful snowflake-like crystals.

Dr. Emoto described the water from these pristine sources as Hexagonal water, meaning it has six sides, like a snowflake has six points. It is in its most simple, natural, beautiful shape as God meant it to be. It hasn't been poisoned with all the chemicals and toxins our modern industries subject it to. And it hasn't been stripped of all the healthy minerals either, or left sitting on a shelf for months, all the while leaching chemicals from the plastic bottles either.

With all the ways Dr. Emoto tried to filter city tap water, he couldn't get it to make a beautiful crystal like the pristine, beautiful healing water did until one day Jay Hare (from what was then called Ion Life) sent him a water ionizer to test. The water ionizer did the trick. It recreated the water through electrolysis to be in a more perfect structure, just like the healing water from pristine sources. But wait! This was using city water! He created a GIF to send Jay to prove that his ionized water was perfect (as I already knew it was), but this was exciting to see in a beautiful growing crystal like this.

Why is this so exciting? This is significant because who can get their water from a pristine mountain source? People do not have to be billionaires and travel to the Alps to get perfect water! Anyone can set up a water ionizer to create their own pristine healing water at home for healthy living and disease prevention.

We need to all start thinking this way. Waiting to get sick forces a person to go to a medical doctor and get medicine. Why do it that way? Why not prevent disease? Right?

People worldwide who were being healed with ionized water did not need Dr. Emoto's extra validation to know that it had changed their lives. But even so, it always stuck with me what a beautiful thing it is that this water is so structurally perfect.

Water ionizers are not to be thought of as healing instruments, but ionized water is perfect water, and perfect water is sometimes the exact thing a body needs to stay healthy or to heal itself.

All the water ionizers I sell would also produce perfect water like this, but there are more reasons to love the newer and more improved water ionizers. I'll talk about those later in this post.

The Work of Dr. Ben Johnson & Jay Hare

Dr. Ben Johnson and Jay Hare traveled to Vilcabamba, Ecuador, to study the water there. People who live in Vilcambamba are often over a hundred years old. Their water is famous for its healing properties.

The century-old people in Vilcabamba didn't need hospitals and lived productive lives. They attributed their health to a mountain stream near their town.

After testing the water in the stream used by the townspeople, they found the pH and ORP of the healing water were lightly alkaline and ionized, with a negative charge, similar to ionized water!

The Work of Dr. Beverly Rubik, PH.D.

In her research, Rubik tested and experienced every kind of water: tap water, filtered water, bottled water, hydrogen water, and even vortexes. And she found that none of it was good enough. Water must be restructured completely to return it to its vibrant, energetic state. And it turned out that ionized water, from a water ionizer, is the best way she found to create the healthiest water by all her testing.

The Work of Dr. Hiromi Shinya

Dr. Shinya is a J panese/American surgeon and a famous gastroenterologist. He is the inventor of the colonoscopy and has performed over 500 thousand colonoscopies in his career. He has written a diet plan to help his patients and recommends drinking alkaline ionized water throughout the day. His novel approach to medical/natural healing is famous worldwide, and he has cured many thousands of people who came to him with diseased colons.

The Work of Nate Darnell, VP of Diabetes Support Services Inc.

In studying the hundreds of diabetic patients who rely on their support services, Mr. Darnell soon realized that diabetic patients don't die from diabetes. They die from cardiovascular disease, cancer, and everything else that's caused by significant free-radical damage… kidney failure, liver damage…

He notes in his lecture:

• In 1999, Japanese researchers discovered a beneficial action of hydrogen-rich water on tumor cells.
• This was explicitly the hydrogen in electrolyzed reduced water (ionized water).
• They don't know precisely why it does this, but they have deduced from studies that elctrically reduced water (ionized water), which is rich in hydrogen gas, suppresses T-lemurs and tumor cells, thereby retarding the development of the tumor. And it appears to be selective, an essential feature of any antioxidant.

The Work of Dr. Ohta

In 2007, a famous article by Dr. Shigeo Ohta of Nippon Medical University in Japan appeared in Nature Magazine. The article was about his 15 years of research and was instrumental in American "medical" circles, because Nature Magazine was an established and esteemed magazine in the US and worldwide.

Ohta focused on the hydrogen molecule (H2) found in ionized water, which can also be produced as a gas. He brought up some key points in his article, which impressed the medical and research community and changed how some of the top water ionizer manufacturers developed a better technology to harness the power of H2 in ionized water.

Here are some of his findings:

• Hydrogen is a molecule found in pairs (H2) or combined with other elements to make different molecules.
• It acts as a selective antioxidant in the body. In other words, it won't harm the "good" radicals, which are helpful in the body; it only neutralizes (destroys) the deadly free radicals with no adverse effects.
• Common antioxidants are bulky and don't get into cells. Then, after losing the free electron (donating it), they can become potentially harmful to the body.
• The extra electron in H2 bonds and unbinds over and over until the hydrogen eventually evaporates.
• Molecules of hydrogen are so small (and note they are lipid soluble), so they penetrate cell membranes and even the blood-brain barrier easily.
• H2 is invisible to the microscope, but measurable. Here are some things Dr. Ohta's measurements show:
  • Molecular hydrogen even repairs cells after damage.
  • High concentrations of H2 are entirely safe.
  • It helps the body's homeostasis by removing harmful free radicals and leaving useful ones alone.
  • It regulates gene expression, communicating between metabolic pathways. H2 regulates the production of the correct proteins when and where needed. In other words, it helps the metabolism work better.
  • Hydrogen signals enzyme production in the body, reducing the bad free radical production.
  • Every single organ and nearly every significant disease benefits from H2.
  • In his own studies and the other research he's followed, Otah observed and made a statement that H2 can ameliorate or even prevent over 170 diseases observed so far.
  • Over the past 15 years, his trials have shown that consuming molecular hydrogen-enriched water has greater, long-lasting benefits. For instance, after consuming the hydrogen-enriched water, the benefits go on for hours or even days inside the body.

It is so small that it enters every cell to fight free-radical damage.

A free radical needs another electron to be stable and steals it from your cells. Ionized water produces millions of extra electrons, neutralizes free radicals, and repairs cell damage. 

Regular water contributes to oxidation-related diseases, but ionized water, which has a property called oxidation-reduction potential (ORP), can help prevent this. 

This negative charge associated with the donated electrons gives us another benefit of ionized water: the minerals in ionized water are more bioavailable because of the negative charge.

Bodies Naturally Need to Be Slightly Alkaline
