If your home or community has older water pipes that contain rust and other contaminants, affecting your water quality, the ceramic filter will address this issue.
Some Great Things About Ceramic Filters:
- Durable and reusable – They can be cleaned with a soft brush or scouring pad.
- Highly effective at blocking particulates and bacteria – With a 0.5-micron pore size, they filter out dirt, protozoa, copepods, micro-plastics, spores, cysts, and many bacteria before they ever reach the ceramic filter media or your primary filter.
- Our ceramic filter system is not only practical but also cost-effective. It’s generally more cost-effective to replace or maintain high-end filters than to replace them, saving you money in the long run. You can feel bright and savvy for choosing a product that offers both quality and affordability.
- Dual-Ceramic Filters: These ceramic filters are made with patented “Dual-Ceramic”, an environmentally friendly, 100% natural ceramic. Compared to other ceramic filters, it filters sediment, suspended particles, and biological matter more effectively, even surpassing most commercial ceramic filters.
Who knows what is possible to get into our water supplies these days? It gives me peace of mind to have this system in-line with the other filters I use for water filtration. I never worry if our town gets a boil-water order.
The City Water Ceramic Filter System is completely BPA-free and made with food-grade AS and ABS plastics, ensuring your safety and peace of mind. You can trust in the quality and reliability of our product.
How Does a Ceramic Filter System Work?
The way ceramic filters work is that water enters the housing outside the filter. The water pressure then forces its way through the 0.5 μm ceramic pores, which keep all the sediment outside the filter and prevent any from entering. It also prevents biological contaminants, such as algae, mold, and most bacteria, from entering. Every few months, follow the steps below to periodically clean and wash the ceramic filters.
Can You Use the Ceramic Filter System With Well Water?
Yes. The City Water Ceramic Filter System can also be used for well water. It keeps all the sediment and most biological contaminants out, ensuring your well water is safe and clean. If you want even finer (smaller pores) protection for your well water, go to the replacement filters page and order either CM02 or CM01 filters.

Inside the City Water Ceramic Filter System
The City Water Ceramic Filter System comes as a countertop water system with its own faucet diverter and spout. The spout can be interchanged with a 1/4" quick-connect fitting to be installed under the sink and used as a water ionizer prefilter or hooked up to your own filter faucet. See instructions to convert it below.
A single, easy-change filter contains all 3 stages of the water filter system. The filter removes rust, sediment, chlorine, heavy metals, organic pollutants, chemicals, disinfection byproducts, unpleasant taste and odors and inhibits bacterial growth!
Outstanding, Patented, 100% Natural, Washable, Dual-Ceramic Filters!
The City Water Ceramic Filter System has an extraordinary design and dual-ceramic casings to their filters which remove all sediment, rust, etc. and clarify the water to beautiful, pure-looking levels before that water even goes through the carbon and other filter layers. What this means is better taste, clarity of water and a much longer filter life.
The outer layer of the dual-ceramic catches all of the impurities in the water down to .5 microns, and won't let it enter the filter. If the filter slows down over time, then the sediment collected on the ceramic filter can be lightly scrubbed off, allowing you to extend the life of the filter by at least twice that of a plastic-cased or fiber-cased filter of its kind.
The patented dual-ceramic is made of environmental-friendly 100% natural ceramic and compared to other ceramic filters will filter sediment, suspended particles and biological matter even better than commercial ceramic filters.
Ceramic Filter Systems are Long Lasting!
The filter media is designed to last an average family over a year! The ceramic is designed to last even longer! You can clean the ceramic to renew it if at any time the filter's flow-rate slows down.

Standard Filter Setup Instructions
If you’re using the City Water Ceramic Filter System as a pre-filter, follow the instructions below to convert it before proceeding with the setup.
The ceramic filter is delicate. It is shipped with the factory wrapping and also a bubble-wrap bag and placed inside the housing (to protect the filter from breaking during shipping). Don’t remove it until you’re ready to. Install the hoses and all other components first, then open the housing and carefully remove, unwrap, and screw in the ceramic filter. Hand-screw tightly, then immediately screw the housing cover back on (hand-tighten well). Ceramics can break, so always handle them with care.
The next step (before actually using the new filter) is to flush it. The first gallon or so will contain carbon dust and will appear grey. When it runs out, clear it’s ready to go. So, flush the system when you first get it and every time you replace the filter.
Converting the PureEasy Counter-Top System to a Pre-filter
This ceramic filter can be used upstream to (before) any other filter system (such as more expensive water filters). It pays to keep your water filtration systems free from clogging or sediment buildup, as this helps downstream filters work more efficiently and last longer. Converting the City Water Ceramic Filter System to a pre-filter is a straightforward process that can be completed in a few simple steps.
Watch this video for the full explanation of how to convert this ceramic filter system.
Having a ceramic filter in-line with your more expensive filtration system could save you hundreds of dollars that would otherwise be wasted.
1) Remove the product from the box.
2) Carefully remove the pieces from the base: spout, housings (keep the wrapped filters inside the housing for now), and set all in a safe place.
3) Leave the hose intact and just disconnect it from the faucet diverter or cut the hose as I demonstrated in the video.
4) Unscrew the spout fitting from the base and set it aside.
5) Using plumber’s tape, wrap the tape around the threads of one of the fittings about 5 times. Smooth out any rough edges. Screw the fitting into the base [where the spout fitting was removed].
6) Push the loose hose into the quick-connect fitting that you just installed into the base.
7) The hose pieces are now ready to hook in-line with your water ionizer or other water filter system.
Cleaning & Caring for Ceramic Filters
If the filter slows down over time, that means that sediment has collected on the outside of the ceramic filter inside the housing.
You can renew the ceramic as often as needed for your particular water source by cleaning it. Ceramic filters are easy to care for. Here are the usual steps:
- Clean Regularly: When the flow slows or after heavy use, scrub the ceramic gently with a scouring pad under clean water. Never use soap or harsh chemicals.
- Sanitize: After cleaning, soak in a mild bleach solution (1 tbsp per gallon of water) for 10 minutes to disinfect the outer ceramic shell. This won’t affect the carbon media, which is sealed inside.
- Replace When Worn: Ceramic filters can typically be cleaned dozens of times, but once they become too thin or cracked, it’s time to replace them. Always have an extra filter on hand.
Store Filters Properly
Moisture encourages bacterial and mold growth.
- Disassemble the filter housing and carefully remove the filter.
- Shake out excess water.
- Let it air dry in a cool, clean, ventilated area—avoid direct sunlight. If you want to cover it, use a paper towel so no moisture gets trapped in the filter.
- Ensure it’s in a protected spot to prevent the ceramic from breaking.
Replacement Filters
The special, patented ceramic is durable and can last many years. However, if you’re using it as a primary filter system, the filter media is designed to last only about a thousand gallons, or a year on average.
There are three options for replacement filters. Visit our replacement filters page.
- CM05 is the original component that comes in the filter system. It has an outer shell of natural, high-quality .5M ceramic. It is so fine that it will remove particles even as small as most bacteria. The CM05 filter also removes rust, sediment, chlorine, heavy metals, organic pollutants, chemicals, disinfection byproducts, and unpleasant tastes and odors, and inhibits bacterial growth. It naturally removes all sediment from the water, and is washable!
- CM02 is similar to the CM05 filter but has finer pores. It’s the same in removing chemicals and heavy metals, but better at the removal of bacteria, algae, fungus, and viruses.
- CM01 has the smallest pore size of all, which is great for well water or compromised city water. It filters bacteria, algae, fungus, and viruses in addition to chemicals. However, because of the small size of the pores, it may clog up more easily if you have a lot of sediment in your water (needing more frequent cleaning).
