The Fluoride Shield is one of the options for the #1 spot on the Vesta GL water ionizer only. Check with us if you're not sure which Vesta water ionizer you have. It will filter out Arsenic, Fluoride, Chlorine and Sediment from water before it is ionized.
Fluoride and Arsenic in drinking water is a growing concern for many of us and AlkaViva has created a solution, the UltraWater Fluoride-Arsenic Shield. By using the newest cutting edge techniques, AlkaViva has created the first internal ionizer filter to reduce Fluoride and Arsenic to non-detectable levels in laboratory testing.
Fluoride has long been difficult to remove from drinking water using traditional filters because the standard point of use fluoride filters require very slow flow rates, much too slow for an ionizer. AlkaViva's commitment to not only healthy, but clean and contaminant free water has lead us to new methods for reducing Fluoride and Arsenic that can be used effectively inside of an ionizer.
The UltraWater Fluoride-Arsenic Shield Filter will be placed in the filter #1 position of your Vesta and was engineered to work perfectly with the #1 filter counter.
For all customers who use the Vesta water ionizers, the UltraWater Fluoride-Arsenic Filter is the best choice for the #1 slot and the regular UltraWater filter is the best choice for the #2 filter slot.
Warning: There is one problem with the UltraWater Fluoride-Arsenic Filter. It must be flushed properly in the #2 filter slot before using it or it will cause you to have a period of cloudy water to put up with. The way to flush it is to put it into the #2 filter position and the other filter that is normally in the #2 slot should go into the #1 slot. The second step is to run the ionizer in the filtered water mode until the water runs clear. Step 3 is to switch the filters so they are now in their proper slots. Finally, reset the filter-counters to the zero-position for both slots and you're good to go!
