A Simple Trick to Make Lower Acidic Water With Your Water Ionizer
Once every month or two I use this simple little trick to get the lowest acid water possible to fill up my bathroom and kitchen spray bottles. I do this strictly to get the increased germ-killing power of low acid ionized water of 2.5 pH from my water ionizer.
Do not confuse using the lowest acidic water [for killing germs] with beauty water, which would be only a mildly-low acidic water [around 4 – 6 pH].
In this video I demonstrate how adding rock salt to the mineral port, while pouring the strongest alkaline water at a slow flow-rate, will give me the strongest possible acidic water coming out of the bottom hose. Note: Make sure your mineral port has a good basket and you don't add rock salt that is too small. Chunks about 1/8 to 1/3 inch diameter are about right. If your water ionizer doesn't have a mineral port, you can use this. https://alkalinewaterplus.com/accessories-other-products/external-mineral-port
My St. Louis source water is pretty good, and using the Athena water ionizer without adding rock salt will normally give me low enough acidic water even without this trick, however I like to fill up my spray bottles with the lowest acidic water I can get for germ-killing purposes. As you can see in the video, above, using this little trick allows me to get an extremely low pH.
I love cleaning my toilets and counter-tops with this all natural, very low, ionized acidic water. I also will use it to descale tile in the bathroom and soak my water testing probes in [to de-scale them as well]. So, this is a very handy trick to know, and I thought I’d pass it on to you. The only caution is that I suggest to do this only rarely, such as once a month, i.e., not on a daily basis, because you could over-work your water ionizer.
By the way, the acid water, which comes out of the bottom hose while I'm pouring my ionized water for drinking, is perfectly good for skin, hair, beauty water, watering plants and general cleaning. There is usually no reason to go for the lower acidic water. But it’s nice to know you can get it if/when you want to.
Note: Whenever you add sodium to your water ionizer use caution. Always make sure to remove the sodium when done and rinse the machine by pouring about a quart or so of regular ionized or filtered water (no sodium added) before leaving it.
