When You Filter Water to Drink Yourself, You Can Control the Quality!
To know you're getting healthy-water you should filter the water yourself. In the US tap water is regulated, treated and partially filtered before it gets to your tap. Our water quality controls are not bad. Yes, the water does have some contaminants in it, but those can be filtered out pretty easily right before you drink it. Why Should You Filter Water Right Before Drinking?
The whole point to treating water is to be able to bring your water to you in an un-contaminated state. The chemicals used to treat the water keep it free of bacteria and fungus till it gets to you. Once you filter the chlorine out of the water …that is the time to drink it. If you filter water prematurely, you take the chlorine out, then store it for days, weeks, months [as in bottled water] it then has the risk of leaching chemicals from the storage container and growing bacteria and fungus. If you filter your water right before drinking it [or within a day or two] you don’t have these risks.
Bottled Water Dirtier than Tap Water?
The bottled water companies aren’t regulated like your local water company is. All kinds of language is used to make you think you are getting clean, natural water, such as “spring water”, “pure water”, etc., but the tests done by the EWG showed that bottled water was of unacceptable quality in a great many cases. If it is really natural spring water, there's a chance that there are growing parasites or bacteria in it. Or if it is treated with reverse-osmosis, or other extreme measures, then all of the good, heathy-minerals are taken out of the water. There just isn't a way for bottling companies to give you the same high-quality healthy-water that you can get if you filter it, fresh, yourself.
The EWG, Environmental Working Group, did a study of bottled water and found that on average the bottled-water was an inferior drinking-water to local tap water. Note that the EWG recommends filtering your local tap water, but even without filtering it the EWG found that in many cases the bottled water had more contaminants, pharmaceuticals, bacteria, fecal waste products, etc. than local tap water.

I have made it a mission to learn everything there is to know about water, and bottled-water is no exception. I absolutely do not advocate bottled water because it’s expensive, trashes up our planet and is less healthy than water we filter or ionize ourselves. Here is my latest video comparing a couple of the best [...]
PureEasy filtered water is very clean water.Billions of dollars are spent yearly on bottled water in this country, but every reason customers buy bottled water has been debunked in this web page about bottled-water. Usually people purchase bottled water in order to get fresh, clean water. However it’s more likely that you’ll get fresh, clean water if [...]
Water Ionizers and Reverse Osmosis [RO]A water ionizer will work with reverse osmosis, RO, but you will need to understand a few things about water ionizers & RO in order to make it work. When you hook a water ionizer up to a source that has no or few minerals [such as an RO unit] you [...]
I had a phone call the other day asking about a filter that gets potassium out of water. I wanted to explain in detail here why you should filter this out if you have a water ionizer, and the best way to do so.Salt and Potassium based Water SoftenersThe two most popular water softeners that [...]
Reverse Osmosis is considered one of the best forms of filtration. A lot of people have RO machines that think that they are drinking really healthy water. I would like to shed some light on this subject and relate/compare it to alkaline ionized water, which you would get from an alkaline water machine [AKA… water ionizer].What [...]
I was doing a little research on distilled water verses ionized water, and I found some pretty interesting things. I have a few friends who insist on drinking distilled water because their rationale is: it does not have any chemicals in it and it is pure water, so it obviously is “good for you”. This [...]
Some people just have to use reverse osmosis with their water ionizers. Certain things only reverse osmosis or some other nano-filtration system can do [such as removing sodium and dissolved solids in the water]. I don’t want to make reverse osmosis sound too easy, but it’s not very hard. You need to know what you’re doing though, [...]
I’ve been drinking ionized water for years and only just recently started using reverse-osmosis-remineralized-water as my source water. I had no subjective knowledge of reverse osmosis prior to about 6 months ago, so I am writing this blog post for others who are in that situation. There are many reasons one might need to use reverse osmosis. But, [...]
I just love my new Athena Water Ionizer and my new IonLife Reverse-Osmosis-with-Remineralizer Set up! For years I was really against reverse osmosis, because it took all the minerals out of the water and left it as “dead water”, as the Japanese refer to it. I’ve been drinking ionized water for about 17 years and have [...]
Cathleen was a teacher/principal for 24 years and has been drinking ionized water for about 25 years. She created Alkaline Water Plus to educate people about the benefits of ionized water.
